Robert Pattinson is the talk of Hollywood once again, thanks to his stunning performance in Matt Reeve's The Batman.
The British actor, 35, had joked he would turn to "art-house porn" if his version of the comic book hero wasn't a success, but after rave reviews and major box office takings, it seems unlikely we'll see Rob in the buff anytime soon.
Thanks to his dark portrayal of the billionaire caped crusader, fans across the world are flocking to cinemas to see Robert on-screen in his latest flick.
As The Batman hits the headlines over the weekend, we take a look at the lead star's off-screen life - from past singing ambitions to his sometimes dramatic love life.
Incredible Harry Potter fortune
Although he became a major star thanks to the Twilight franchise, many fans fondly remember first seeing Robert on screen during his stint in the Harry Potter movies.
The Batman actor took on the role of Hufflepuff's Cedric Diggory in the fourth installment of the magical saga, making his theatrical film debut in 2005.
Potterheads wept as the actor's character met a grisly end during the Triwizard Tournament, when Lord Voldemort ordered Peter Pettigrew to 'kill the spare' in the resurrection in Little Hangleton.
After getting his big break - and before landing the Edward Cullen gig - Robert admitted he could easily live off the huge cheque he pocketed while considering his next career move.
"I spent a lot of time living off the 'Harry Potter' money," the actor admitted during a chat with GQ earlier this month. "I moved to an apartment in Soho in London."
He then went on to confess he almost ditching his acting dream to pursue another creative endeavor - singing.
"I don't know where I had the kind of belief in that, because there was absolutely no one saying that there's any kind of music career on the table," he explained.
"But I was doing a lot of gigs all the time. I was just constantly doing open mics all the time, and then I ran out of money, basically."
"I was definitely going in the wrong direction in terms of a career, up until Twilight," Robert added when chatting to the publication.
Twilight and 'painful' Kristen split
Despite often bashing the franchise that made him a household name over the years, Robert recently declared that hating on Twilight is no longer cool.
Chatting while promoting The Batman, the actor's co-star Zoe Kravitz admitted she'd never seen the famous vampire saga, to which Robert hit back with: "It's not even cool to be a hater anymore."
"That's so 2010," he jokingly added.
The first of the romance fantasy films debuted in 2008, and just one year later, the Edward Cullen actor was linked to his co-star, Bella Swan actress Kristen Stewart.
Their off-screen romance was as dramatic as the movies they starred in at times, with the Spencer actress admitting to cheating on Robert with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
"I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," Kristen stated in a public apology in 2012.
"This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry."
After the news of the alleged infidelity broke, Robert reportedly moved out of the couple's home, but the Twilight soon reunited and continued to star in the vampire movies together.
Their relationship became a huge pop culture conversation, with even future President Donald Trump weighing in with an opinion, tweeting: "Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again — just watch. He can do much better!"
Robert and Kristen eventually called it quits for good in May 2013, with the Oscar nominated actress telling The Daily Beast in 2015: "It was incredibly painful. … Relationships — you just never f**king know."
Robert's love life now
After splitting from his Twilight co-star, Robert struck a romance with singer-songwriter FKA Twigs in September 2014.
The actor even popped the question to Two Weeks singer, but it wasn't to be and the pair ended their relationship in the summer of 2017.
Since 2018, The Batman actor has been dating stunning model Suki Waterhouse, with the happy couple co-habiting together in London as of July 2020.
Chatting with GQ last month, Robert revealed his 30-year-old partner was the reason he changed the location for their interview from the London Zoo to Holland Park.
"I was talking to my girlfriend last night and she was, like, 'You know, people don’t really like zoos', he explained in his recent interview.
"I’d been thinking about a metaphorical thing. But then I was thinking that’s very wrong, a sad bear walking in circles. I just can’t help it.
"I’ll do it for every single element, every decision, in my life. What is the worst-case scenario for this decision?"
The Batman boycott
Critics have praised Robert for reinventing billionaire Bruce Wayne in the latest reboot of the Batman franchise.
The Batman has been a worldwide hit at the box office, but those wanting to catch the comic book flick in Russia will miss out, thanks to the country's recent invasion of their neighbouring country.
The world has watched on in horror over recent weeks, after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a military attack on Ukraine, with many civilian deaths and causalities already reported.
"In light of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, WarnerMedia is pausing the release of its feature film The Batman in Russia,” a spokesperson for Warner Bros said in a statement earlier this week.
Although Robert has yet to personally comment on the cultural boycott of Russia, many celebrities and prominent figures have hailed the action as necessary in order to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
