Batman is returning to Liverpool next month as a new comic book featuring the hero goes on sale.
The Gotham City hero swooped into Liverpool last October as scenes for the DC Comics blockbuster were filmed at St George’s Hall and the Liver Building.
Back in 2020, stars including Robert Pattinson were seen filming the reboot of the franchise, due to be released in March 2022.
Now, Batman is returning to Liverpool next month - in a slightly different way.
Forbidden Planet, the world’s largest comics and entertainment store chain has teamed up with DC Comics to present an exclusive Batman: The Detective #1 comic book cover featuring the Liver Building.

The release of the comic will tie in with Forbidden Planet’s reopening on April 12, when non-essential retail is permitted to reopen in England.
The inspiration for the exclusive cover came from the Liver Building's appearance in the upcoming Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson and Colin Farrell.
The special cover was drawn by British artist Brian Bolland, who is known for his artwork on the most famous Batman comic book of all time The Killing Joke, written by Alan Moore.
Batman: The Detective comic book tells the tale of Batman on a harrowing, action-packed European adventure in a new miniseries by creators Tom Taylor and Andy Kubert.
In the comic book, a “horrific tragedy in the United Kingdom sends a very personal and deadly message to the Dark Knight” which will draw Batman out of Gotham City to investigate.

From the moment he lands in Europe, Batman will face a difficult investigation and unheard-of adversaries which form the hunt for the villain known as Equilibrium.
