Bath-based European property marketplace appoints new CEO

An online property marketplace which operates out of the South West has announced a change in leadership.

Bath-based Kyero showcases more than 750,000 homes for sale or long-term rent across Europe, with a reported turnover of £4m. The business works with more than 10,000 estate agents across Spain, Portugal, Italy and France.

The firm has now promoted managing director Gemma Coles as its new chief executive. Ms Coles will take over the running of the company from Martin and Louise Dell, who founded Kyero in 2003 with an initial investment of £5,000.

Ms Coles joined the platform in 2020, having previously been managing director at Bristol-based app developer Mubaloo, where she led a 50-strong team and built strategic partnerships with clients such as tech giants Apple and EE. She also helped to position the company for acquisition by IPG Mediabrands.

Kyero said that since joining the company Ms Coles had delivered revenue growth of 50%, despite what it called “significant market challenges” posed by Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ms Dell said: “The potential for the business moving forward is significant as we look to strengthen and expand our foothold in all four territories, and with Gemma at the helm, and the exceptionally talented global team working alongside her, we are confident that we will achieve our ambitious growth targets over the coming years.”

Ms Coles added: “Despite the significant recent growth of the business, we remain nimble and well-positioned to respond to the considerable opportunity that exists in the market, particularly as data suggests that buyer confidence in the overseas market is high compared to some domestic markets.

“I am delighted to be taking on the role of CEO, and proud to be driving growth with such a talented team.”
