A hilarious video of 'Mattress Mack' transporting $10million (£8.5m) in cash via wheelbarrow has gone viral, following his huge $75m (£63.7m) bet win after he placed £8.5m on Houston Astros to win the MLB World Series.
Jim McIngvale, also known as Mattress Mack, must have been in dreamland as the Astros won the World Series 4-1 against the Philadelphia Phillies. His mass pay-out is believed to be the biggest ever sports betting win, and it's fair to say it's likely that a bigger one would be hard to keep quiet.
In the ultimate flex for his huge win, a video began to surface of McIngvale moving £8.5m in a wheelbarrow towards his private jet - as his life continues to get crazier. But amazingly he would need another seven wheelbarrow trips to cover the entire pay-out.
The 71-year-old is known for his high stakes betting habits, despite betting being illegal in the state of Texas, where Mattress Mack lives. In order to place his bets he travels to either Las Vegas or Louisiana just to curb the rules.
But, with every major win it's only right to remember the losses, and he's had a few of those in 2022. McIngvale lost £1m when his horse was beaten at the Kentucky Derby back in May.
£7million was also lost by McIngvale when he bet on the Cincinnati Bengals to win the Super Bowl in February, when they lost to the Los Angeles Rams. But this win trumps all the rest, and it's unlikely to be the last with the NFL, NFL and NBA now firmly underway.
It's not just big bets that McIngvale does, as he also ties his wagers in with promotions at his furniture shops in order to boost his income. The Mattress Mack nickname comes from his successful furniture business, and it's only growing with his success in the sportsbook markets.
The promotions are a big hit with his local customers, and the 71-year-old ensures he wins no matter what. McIngvale allows customers who purchase a mattress to get their money back if he goes on to win big, as he did when the Astros won the World Series.
Fans are eagerly waiting to see what McIngvale chooses to punt on next, with the World Cup and the Super Bowl both coming up within the next few months. And his method of transport will also be of interest, after his wheelbarrow choice went viral.
