A daredevil base-jumper was airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured when he threw himself off a 320ft cliff at Durdle Door.
The extreme sportsman reportedly hit the side of the cliff at high speed just moments after he opened his parachute.
He then crash landed on the harsh pebbled beach below him at Swyre Head in Durdle Door, Dorset.
Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team and paramedics were immediately called to the base of the beach at around 8.45am on Saturday morning, with reports the man was suffering severe leg injuries.
Coastguards, a lifeboat crew and an air ambulance also rushed to the scene by the seaside.
In a social media post, Lulworth CRT stated that the team arrived at Durdle in time to assist a SWAST paramedic in locating the casualty.
They also carried rescue and equipment to the location, which was a 10-minute walk along the beach.
Meanwhile, an air ambulance was also with the casualty when they arrived, and helped treat him on scene.
The injured man was then placed on a stretcher on the Helo, before being airlifted to Southampton General Hospital.
A spokesman for Weymouth Lifeboat said: "We were tasked by the coastguard to an injured man on the beach at Durdle Door with significant injuries, who had himself called 999.
"The man was a base jumper who crash landed on the beach and unfortunately sustained serious injuries to his legs.
"The volunteer lifeboat crew started attending to him on the beach before handing over to the medics on the air ambulance. He was taken to hospital in Southampton."
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Lulworth Coastguard, who was present the incident, said that the base-jumper had 'struck the cliff' on the descent.
He said: "The team arrived at Durdle Door in time to assist a SWASFT paramedic in locating the casualty, carrying rescue and medical equipment to the scene, a 10 minute walk along the beach.
"An air ambulance also alerted to the incident landed on the beach and were with the casualty when we arrived."
