Businesses in the south Liverpool area have had to close their doors following a power outage this evening.
Areas of Woolton village were hit by the outage at around 3pm on December 10, with electricity not expected to be restored until around 9.30pm. This meant some bars and restaurants on Allerton Road had to close on one of the busiest times of the week.
One ECHO reader who had a booking at Il Ristorante restaurant said it's a "nightmare" after the restaurant got in touch to tell her the power would be down for three more hours.

She said: "They’ve just rang me as I was supposed to be going for a meal. They’ve been told it’ll be off three hours, with the National Grid trying to sort it, but it's a nightmare on a Saturday night in December."
One person also claimed The Loft bar on Allerton Road was also hit by the power cut, but has managed to stay open. They said: "The Loft bar has no power but they're still open. It's bottles and cash only and they can't show the football."
Not every business has been affected by the outage however, with some pubs looking to capitalise on the closure of their competitors. The manager of the Elephant pub on Woolton Street said: "The power is still on here, which is really lucky. We don't show football though so I don't think we will benefit too much from other pubs being shut."
Ying Wah Bar and Restaurant were also unaffected by the cut.
A statement from Scottish Power said: "There is a power cut in the L25 postcode area of Woolton, affecting properties in High Street, Allerton Road, Church Road South, Quarry Street, and surrounding streets. Restoration is taking longer than expected because of a fault on the underground cable network.
"Our team are now working to get your electricity supply back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 9.30pm. We will update this message if this information changes. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
