BARRY ROBSON has revealed referee Nick Walsh asked for the Pittodrie ball boys to speed up during their 2-0 win over Rangers on Sunday.
Second half goals from Liam Scales and Bojan Miovski secured a famous victory for the Dons to strengthen their grip on third spot in the Premiership.
And it was a unique day at the office for the Pittodrie caretaker boss after Walsh came over to the dugouts during the closing stages of a competitive encounter.
"I think so," Robson said when asked if it was a big result in the European race. "Hearts had a terrific result. It's not going to be easy.
"We'll probably have to go to Hearts, three away games we are looking at - as usual. Everybody is against us again, so what do we have to do? Fight back.
"The referee for the first time in my 20, 30 years in football, it was the first time he's come over and say tell the ball boys to hurry up. Thirty years? I didn't get that one.
"I can't remember [when he spoke to me]. Maybe ten, 15 minutes to go. I've not heard that one before. I'm not falling out with the referee, I just found it quite funny."
Robson has transformed Aberdeen's fortunes since being installed as Jim Goodwin's successor in the dugout in January and it is now seven wins on the spin for the Reds.
This was the most impressive victory of his tenure so far but he was determined to put all of the focus onto his players as they rose to the challenge to move five points clear of Hearts.
Robson said: "Five questions in! You know the answer, don't you? We'll talk about that later. Let's not get carried away about me or 'are you going to get the job'.
"Let's put this about the players and the fans today. It's not about me.
"Put it on to them, talk about how good they've been, how much they ran and fought for the club. That's what I'd like all of you to talk about, not about me."
