Barry McCullagh: Police in fresh search for clues three weeks on from mystery disappearance

Police searching for missing Barry McCullagh have revisited the area where he was last seen just over three weeks ago.

The dad-of-two vanished around 5.20pm on Corsebar Road in Paisley. A man matching his description was captured on CCTV on Lounsdale Road outside the Lord Lounsdale Pub a short time later.

The 40-year-old had been a patient at the Royal Alexandra Hospital having suffered seizures.

Officers have been speaking to local residents and drivers on Meikleriggs Drive in a bid for clues as they attempt to trace Barry, who is from the Castlemilk area of Glasgow.

Barry is described as 5ft 9in tall, of medium build and with short, black hair.

When last seen, he was wearing navy jogging trousers, a black jumper with a zip, and silver trainers.

Chief Inspector Damian Kane, the area commander for Renfrewshire, said: “Three weeks have now passed since Barry was last seen and we remain extremely concerned about him.

“We have significant resources dedicated to the enquiry in an effort to find Barry and we are urging the public to come forward with any information relating to his whereabouts.

“I would again ask, if you were in the area at the time, please think back, did you notice anyone matching his description?

“If anyone has seen Barry, or has any information as to his present whereabouts, please contact police as a matter of urgency.

“We do not believe Barry will have travelled far and would again urge people who live in the area to check outbuildings and sheds.”

Anyone with any information on Barry’s whereabouts is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3910 of 5 October, 2022.
