Tomorrow marks one week since a man went missing from Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital – now police are asking people to check their gardens and outbuildings for signs of him.
Barry McCullagh was last seen on Corsebar Road, outside the hospital, on Wednesday, October 5 around 5.20pm when it is thought that he popped outside for a smoke.
CCTV footage of the 40-year-old shows him without a jacket and it is believed he does not have a phone or any money on him.
He’s still not been in contact with friends or family, which police say is very unlike him.
And so with the days passing, police have asked the public to check shelters on their property's grounds in case Barry has taken refuge.
They've also said there will be an increased police presence in the nearby area while the search continues.
As concern for his welfare grew last week, police issued multiple appeals to help trace Barry, who is from Castlemilk, Glasgow.
He is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of medium build and has short black hair.
Police say that, when last seen, he was wearing black and navy jogging bottoms, a black soft shell jacket and grey and white trainers.
Sergeant Will Thomson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace Barry and we are continuing to appeal to the public for assistance.
“We do not believe Barry will have travelled far and would urge people who live in the area to check outbuildings and sheds. A large police presence will remain in the area as searches continue.”
Anyone with any information on Barry’s whereabouts is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3910 of 5 October, 2022.
