Barry Manilow 'out of surgery and doing well' but ordered not to 'talk, sing or rap' for 48 hours

Barry Manilow is said to be out of surgery and doing well after being rushed to hospital following complications from emergency oral surgery earlier this week.

An updated statement on the "Copacabana" singer’s Facebook page said doctors report “the surgery was successful and they expect no further complications”.

The statement added: “Manilow has been instructed not to talk, sing, or rap” for the next 48 hours and the 72-year-old “thanks everyone for their well wishes and concern”.

On Thursday, a statement said he had been “rushed” back to a Los Angeles due to complications from emergency oral surgery he had on Monday.

Manilow is currently embarking on his tour, “One Last Time – One Last Tour”. He performed in Memphis on Wednesday evening but his scheduled concerts for Thursday and Friday, in Highland Heights and Nashville, were rescheduled.

Thursday’s statement added that it is unclear whether Manilow will attend Monday’s Grammys where his latest album, My Dream Duets, has been nominated.
