Barry Keoghan shared a touching message to his younger self after he was nominated for an Oscar.
The Summerhill-native has gone from strength to strength of late with roles in big Hollywood films. The latest of which was Martin McDonagh's The Banshee's of Inisherin.
Barry was nominated for an Oscar in the best supporting actor category for his tragic role as Dominic Kearney in the zany period piece. However, Barry's life was not always plain sailing.

The 30-year-old went through 13 different foster care homes after his mam died when he was a child. In a moving post on Instagram, Barry shared a picture of himself just after he found out about the nomination and left a message to his younger self in the caption.
It read: "Feckin OSCARS!!! Picture is the moment I found out. Proud of the whole BANSHEES team. Feckin Irish are in town.
"Colin I love yah bro, thank you for everything. BRANDO [Barry's son] I’m afraid yer gonna be matching what daddy’s wearing.
"And just a note to little Barry, told you we would get there." Barry is part of a huge wave of success for Irish film at this year's Oscars.
There have been a total of 14 nominations for Irish film, including Colin Farrell for his part in The Banshees of Inisherin and Paul Mescal for his role in Aftersun.
