Barry Ferguson is confident Rangers can recoup £55million from player sales this summer if they are forced to sell some of their first-team stars.
Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent are all approaching the final year of their contracts having been key men at Ibrox last term during the run to the Europa League final and the Scottish Cup success. The trio have been mainstays at the club but could leave for nothing next summer and are open to negotiate with other clubs from January.
Calvin Bassey appears to be the jewel in the crown at Rangers with Aston Villa appearing to lead the race for a potential summer signing The versatile defender added to his burgeoning reputation with heroics efforts against Eintracht Frankfurt and Hearts to close out the season, with his star continuing to rise for the Nigeria national side.
Ferguson reckons that sporting director Ross Wilson and boss Gio van Bronckhorst should be pushing to keep all four men at the club long-term. However, he confesses that the club could be forced to sell for the right price.
He told The Go Radio Football Show that Aribo, Kent and Morelos could demand £10million each, while Bassey's starting bid should be at the fee Kieran Tierney left Celtic for - £25million.
Ferguson said: "For me when he (Morelos) is fit, and he is at it, he is a top striker. For me, don't be surprised if he signs an extension, because he is loved at Rangers.
"When you have got him in the right of mind he is a top striker. I think if you ask any team in the Scottish league, or in Europe that Rangers played, they wouldn't have wanted to face him.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Morelos signs, but you just see he is enjoying his football.
"All the guys that are coming into the final year Gio will be wanting to sit them down and get a vibe off of them, if they want to commit or if they want to play their football elsewhere.
'With Raphinha moving on, it's always been an open secret that Leeds like Ryan Kent. That is one that I'm sure fans will be watching with interest. Also you have Joe Aribo, with Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest. He is another I would like to stay, but money talks. Rangers have been open about it, if someone meets the valuation.
"I don't think they will let them go cheap. Rangers bought Ryan for £7million and he is going into the final year, but Rangers have got to be looking for £10m for him and the same for Aribo in my opinion, and the same for Morelos."
On Bassey's future, Ferguson continued: "He has everything you want in a modern day defender. His engine is frightening, and he's just getting better and better. If I was able to give him a bit of advice, it would be to stay and keep playing week in week out.
"His chance will come if he wants to come and go to the English Premier League. This season you can't let him go, unless something ridiculous comes in.
"You have got to be looking at Kieran Tierney money. £25million, you have got to be looking at that."
