Barry Ferguson in Ryan Kent Rangers exit prediction but he has a 'funny feeling' about Alfredo Morelos

Barry Ferguson reckons Ryan Kent may have his head turned should Leeds United come calling with a formal bid. But the Rangers hero has a "funny feeling" Alfredo Morelos will hang around.

Kent and Morelos are out of contract in 12 months' time and watched teammate Joe Aribo, who was in the same situation, seal a move to Southampton. They've both been linked with exits this summer and Ferguson reckons Rangers should sell if they do not commit to new contracts in the next few weeks.

The Record Sport columnist reckons Kent is the most likely of the pair to leave and Leeds United have held a longstanding reported interest in the former Liverpool winger. But he reckons Morelos, who has netted 113 goals in 224 games since joining from Helsinki in 2017, might just commit his future to Ibrox in the foreseeable. He told Go Radio: "Those three players that you mentioned are going into the last year of their contract. I listened to Gio and he said he had a sit down with Joe Aribo and it was clear that he wanted to go and play Premier League football.

"I'm disappointed to lose a player of that quality because I think Aribo, season on season, has got better and better. They signed him for £300,000 four years ago, to get £6m up front in the last year of his deal plus £4m in add-ons is good business.

"He'll be having the same conversations with Kent and Morelos, getting an idea on whether they want to commit. If they don't, Rangers will do business with both of them. I've got a feeling Morelos will stay, Kent I'm unsure.

"The Leeds thing keeps popping up every now and then and I'm sure he wants to go back down and try himself in the Premier League. Rangers would love to keep both, but money talks and every player has a price on their head. If that price is met, Rangers will do business.

"During pre-season Gio will be sitting down and getting a vibe, whether they want to stay or whether they want to go. Over the next few weeks, you'll start to get news coming out about whether these two players will commit."
