Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson has told Connor Goldson he was "better keeping quiet" after the defender took a dig at former boss Gio van Bronckhorst.
Michael Beale earned his second win as Rangers boss during a dramatic night at Pittodrie, with two injury time goals from Scott Arfield leaving Aberdeen shellshocked after a lacklustre performance from the Light Blues. Following the fight-back, centre-back Goldson was in high spirits as he insisted the turnaround would not have happened during the final days of Van Bronckhorst's tenure.
However, this sparked an angry response from Ferguson who insisted the 30-year-old should not be voicing their opinions outside of the Ibrox dressing room. He reckons the focus should have stayed on the current era at Ibrox and the fighting spirit of the side rather than taking aim at the Dutchman. When asked about Goldson's comments on The Go Radio Football Show, Ferguson said: "I don't like hearing things like that. I think there is a way to go about it.
"Sometimes you can go away from the question. It's not just Connor Goldson or Rangers players, when I see any player or a a manager says something after a manager has lost his job; you are better keeping quiet. Get away from the question that is getting answered, I think there is a way to do that.
"I don't like seeing it. The results weren't great under Gio at the end, and sadly he lost his job. There is a new manager in and I think there is a way to go about it."
