Barrow manager says Rory Feely signing will help their promotion push

Barrow boss Pete Wilde is confident of sealing a deal for Rory Feely this week.

The English League Two club are on the verge of signing the former Bohemians defender ahead of the transfer window opening on January 1.

Sitting sixth in the table, Feely has already been over to the club and an announcement is expected this side of Christmas.

Wilde told BBC Radio Cumbria: “We’re hopeful of a deal with Rory in the next week, we’re hoping we can get that signed, sealed and delivered.

“We’ve been talking to Rory, he has been over, and hopefully there’s something to say on that in the next seven days.

“He’s a quick centre-half who can play right-back as well. He’s really good on the football, athletic, 25, up and coming, played 300 men’s games at 25, and a great character.

“He will certainly complement the group.”

Feely will be the second centre-back to leave Bohemians for League Two this month after Ciaran Kelly joined Bradford City.
