Amid the ongoing NY v. Trump trial in Manhattan, former President Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron, has taken a step into the political arena. At the age of 18, Barron was recently chosen by the Republican Party of Florida to serve as an at-large delegate for the state.
Florida GOP chairman Evan Power expressed confidence in the delegation, highlighting the presence of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family. The party aims to secure a significant victory in Florida.
Barron's older siblings, Eric, Donald Jr., and Tiffany, will also join him as Florida at-large delegates at the upcoming Republican National Convention.
The announcement coincides with Barron's upcoming high school graduation in southern Florida. His graduation ceremony had been a subject of debate due to his father's trial in New York. However, a judge granted permission for Trump to attend the ceremony on May 17.
The NY v. Trump case centers on allegations of falsifying business records. Prosecutors claim that Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, made a payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to silence her claims of an extramarital encounter with Trump. The prosecution further alleges that the Trump Organization reimbursed Cohen and falsely categorized the payments as legal expenses. They are working to establish that Trump knowingly falsified records with the intent to commit or conceal another crime, which constitutes a felony.
