Former President Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron Trump, has decided not to serve as a delegate at the upcoming Republican National Convention. This decision was confirmed by a senior Trump campaign adviser and a statement from Melania Trump's office.
In a statement released by the former first lady's office, it was mentioned that Barron Trump, who recently turned 18, was honored to have been chosen as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party. However, due to prior commitments, he regretfully declined the opportunity to serve as an at-large delegate at the July convention.
Several other members of the Trump family, including Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump, were also selected as delegates for the convention.
The Republican National Committee is set to hold its convention in Milwaukee in July. Donald Trump has hinted at announcing his running mate around the time of the convention and has been considering various names for the position.
In a recent radio interview, Donald Trump praised Barron Trump, describing him as a great guy who occasionally offers political advice. He highlighted Barron's academic achievements, mentioning that he is a senior in high school and will soon be heading to college.
Donald Trump also touched upon the changing landscape of college choices amid the current political climate, expressing his views on the state of the country under the Biden administration.
