A Barrhead man threw a knife at three female police officers and threatened to kill them.
Daniel Carey, a prisoner of Barlinnie, is currently behind bars after being jailed for eight months at Paisley Sheriff Court last month after he threatened to ruin the life of his adoptive mum.
Carey 26, appeared at the town’s court via video link on Friday and admitted to being in possession of a knife on July 29 last year, and to shouting, swearing, making threats and to throwing the knife at cops.
Procurator fiscal depute David McDonald told the court that three female police officers were in plain clothes after attending a partnership meeting with the local authority.
Officers PC Petrie, Drennan and Grant were speaking with a potentially vulnerable person in the street and checking on their welfare when thug Carey approached.

Mr McDonald explained: “The accused approached on bike from behind and approached the member of the public and whispered to them.
“It seems that Carey then observes one of the police constables badge and thereafter made reference to her being an officer and called her a pig before cycling off.
“A short time later he returned on his bike on the opposite side of the road and was shouting calling the officer a ‘pig b***h.’
“He then cycled towards officers and threw a lock-back knife with various blades attached at them, hitting a white van.
“When recovered, the blade was noted to be in the lock-out position.
“Carey then cycled off and again returned shouting, ‘I’m going to kill you’ with his arm raised out pointing at the officers making a gesture that was interpreted to be in the shape of a gun.
“He then shouted requesting his knife back and took his hat off and threw it on the ground and cycled off again.”
This happened in Fenwick Road in Giffnock.
Defence agent Ms Boyd told how the Barrhead man had been “living off the grid” at the time of the offence.
She said: “He had built his own property out of wood and was living in a wooded forest area near to Loch Lomond.
“Prior to that he was in a local authority house in Barrhead and this was making him unhappy and so he moved to the woods.
“He underestimated how difficult this would be and he took his stresses out on the police.
“He was having difficulty with his living conditions, his mental health and took his stresses out on them.
“He tells me this was a moment of madness and he is extremely remorseful and embarrassed.”
Sheriff Tom McCartney adjourned sentencing for the preparation of a criminal justice social work report.
Carey will return to court for sentencing on June 9.
