Childhood hero Barney has a fresh new look and it has divided the public, as the beloved purple dinosaur is set to return to television screens in a new animated format.
Having first aired in 1992 in the US, Barney and his dino pals lit up children's TV screens across the world, before the show was discontinued in November 2010.
Mattel, a leading toy maker has announced that the iconic Barney franchise is returning, to both television screens and toy store shelves.

One member of the public, on seeing the new animated "modern take" on Barney, said: "All I gotta say is I feel sorry for this new generation."
The company said it intends to release the new series through film, TV and via YouTube content, in addition to music and merchandising in a bid to target both adult and young Barney lovers.
Another commenter said: "Gah, he's even more traumatizing than he was in a costume."
Toy company Mattel is yet to announce streaming broadcasters for the show, however they are hoping to tap into previous lovers of the show who now have children of their own.
One nostalgic Twitter user asked "what the hell did they do to my Barney? He was perfect!"
Another said: "He used to be kinda cute. Now he’s terrifying."
While one user wrote: "Didn't the first generation suffer enough? This was dumb back then and it'll likely be dumber today."
