One woman has shared how she managed to make an extra £530 over the course of a year - and it didn't involve her making any cut backs.
The shopper shared her money-making hack on Facebook's Extreme Couponing and Bargains group on Facebook which garnered over 350 likes from fellow savers.
She shared with the group that she had been using the website TopCashback.co.uk for just over a year and wanted to recommend it to others.
TopCashback does what it says on the tin - you get money back on qualifying purchases.
All you need to do is sign up and search for the online retailer you want to buy from, then click the cashback site's link to visit that company.
The Facebook user said that she used always checked the site to check if she could claim money back whenever she had to buy something online "no matter how big or small".
She wrote: "Sometimes you are in luck, sometimes not so much.
"But this is how much I have built up in just over a year. If you use it and recommend friends you get a reward and so do they - I highly recommend it."
Alongside the post, the Facebook user shared a screenshot of her TopCashback account which said she had earned a total of £532.10.
The screenshot showed that she had recently made purchases at The Range, Wilko and UberEats.
She also shared that it wasn't retailers which she could earn money from and that supermarkets were sometimes listed on the TopCashback site.
She added: "Sometimes you have supermarkets on there and you can get it on your food shopping too."
The Facebook user shared that the cashback they earned "often" stayed pending in her account for up to a month.
She added that she believed this was to check you didn't just buy the item for the cashback and return it soon after.
However, once it had cleared you can grab your money straight away.
She said: "Once it is cleared you can leave it to build up like I have or it can be withdrawn into your bank."
The way cashback sites work is that they use affiliate links, which allow a retailer to track where the traffic is coming from, and then pay the cashback sites for the lead.
The site can then pay a bit of this income to the shopper.
The amount of money you can get depends on what's spent, as well as the commercial deal, so it can vary widely from each cashback site.
TopCashbackfree is free to use, although it also has a premium version which costs up to £5 of what you earn each year.
It claims its members earn an average of £345 cashback per year which you can withdraw into your bank account, Paypal or convert into gift cards.
