Bargain Hunt couple's staggering profit after buying £130 vintage watch

A married couple on BBC’s Bargain Hunt cashed in a huge profit after buying a £130 watch.

Presenter Eric Knowles introduced the show’s couples to viewers, with Nathalie and Karl on the red team alongside the blue team of Adam and Jemma. While Nathalie and Karl were tasked with finding a fashion accessory, Adam and Jemma were told to hunt for an item with a Chinese connection.

And within 20 minutes, both teams had already snapped up two purchases, leaving 40 minutes to scour the racecourse for their final buy. Antiques expert Raj Bisram said: “This is probably one of the easiest teams I’ve ever had. Twenty mins down, two items. It’s a walk in the park – what else can I say.”

In addition to their £15 Swedish vase, Nathalie and Karl spent a staggering £130 on a vintage gentleman's Omega watch, which dated back to the 1970s. The couple wrapped things up by nabbing a £20 Clarice Cliff mustard pot, which was missing a lid.

Meanwhile, Adam and Jemma's Big Buy item was a military periscope, which they bought for £80. To fulfil their Presenter's Challenge, the couple got their hands on a wooden Chinese jar, which set them back £78, Somerset Live reports

Nathalie and Karl's items went to auction first, with the Swedish vase fetching £30, meaning the couple doubled their money, despite the fact the beautiful glassware had a mark on it. Tim was unable to contain himself as soon as he set eyes on the Omega watch, stating that it was the "height of fashion". In an amazing move, the couple were able to double their money once again as Tim netted them £260 for the vintage accessory, after originally buying it for £130.

Finally, the Clarice Cliff earnt Nathalie and Karl a £4 profit, meaning they managed to bring home a whopping profit of £149. After auctioning off their items, it was time for Raj to surprise the couple with their Bonus Buy item - a bowls set which netted Nathalie and Karl another £16, leaving them with a staggering profit of £165 by the end of the show.
