Barefoot Meghan Markle shocked by Will and Kate's behaviour in first private meeting

In the second episode of Prince Harry and Meghan's explosive Netflix documentary Harry and Meghan, the former actress has said she was shocked by how "formal" the Royal family continued to be in a private setting. Referencing the first time she met Prince William and Kate, Meghan explained how the Royal family remain formal in most settings, including private moments.

Talking about the first time she met Prince William and Kate, the now Prince and Princess of Wales, Meghan explained she was dressed relaxed and casually in ripped jeans and was barefoot. She said: "Even when Will and Kate came over and I had met her for the first time, they came for dinner, I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot." and went on to describe how she was a hugger but some British people find hugging "really jarring" hinting that this happened while meeting Prince William and Kate.

Meghan said she began to realise how the Royal family acted privately. She said: "I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside...that formality carried over on both sides and that was surprising to me" as the documentary showed scenes of Prince William and Kate dressed up for a formal event, looking serious.
