Barcelona XI vs Dortmund: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Champions League today

Barcelona have made three changes for their Champions League quarter-final second-leg tie against Borussia Dortmund tonight.

The dominant LaLiga leaders head to Germany boasting a commanding 4-0 lead from last week’s one-sided first leg in Catalonia in which Robert Lewandowski scored a brace against his former club to go along with goals from fellow attackers Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

There are two changes in defence from that impressive victory six days ago, with no risks taken over Inigo Martinez, who would miss the first leg of a semi-final tie were he to be booked this evening and Barca progress as expected. His place alongside Pau Cubarsi at centre-back is taken by Ronald Araujo.

Alejandro Balde suffered a hamstring injury during the first half of Saturday’s 1-0 LaLiga win over Leganes and is expected to miss a few weeks, with Gerard Martin deputising at left-back in Dortmund.

Hansi Flick’s other alteration is in midfield, where Gavi gets the nod over Spain team-mate Pedri alongside Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez.

Dani Olmo is on the bench, having missed Barca’s last five games across all competitions after suffering an adductor injury during the 3-0 win over Osasuna - a match in which he scored - in the LaLiga fixture that was controversially rescheduled during the most recent international break.

Asked in his pre-match press conference about his plan for Olmo, Flick said on Monday: “Dani Olmo is ready to perform. Whether he can play tomorrow, or for how long, is something we don't know yet and that still has to happen.

“He helps us enormously, but we have to be careful with Olmo. We don't know if he'll play. The important thing is that he's back on the roster.”

With the exception of Balde, captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen and young midfield duo Marc Bernal and Marc Casado, it is a fully-fit squad at Flick’s disposal.

Barcelona XI: Szczesny; Kounde, Cubarsi, Araujo, Martin; De Jong, Fermin, Gavi; Yamal, Lewandowski, Raphinha

Subs: Martinez, Ferran, Pedri, Fati, Pablo Torre, Christensen, Olmo, Pau Victor, Kochen, Inaki, Hector Fort, Eric

Injured: Ter Stegen, Balde, Casado, Bernal

Time and date: 8pm BST on Tuesday April 15, 2025

Venue: Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund

How to watch: TNT Sports 1
