Alex Valle is all set to join Serie A side Como on loan for the remainder of the season after a deal was reached between the Italian club and Barcelona.
The move will coincide with Celtic’s decision to terminate his current loan agreement early, clearing the way for the Spanish full-back to make the switch to Italy.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Como and the Catalan giants have reached a verbal agreement, with the final details being ironed out.
The 20-year-old, who represented Celtic 19 times and won the Scottish League Cup trophy in December, will head to Italy with an apparent €6million exit clause attached to his contract.
A medical is already booked, and the deal is expected to be finalised this week.
Kieran Tierney will, meanwhile, rejoin Celtic, either now or in the summer, and Valle has already been playing second fiddle behind Greg Taylor in manager Brendan Rodgers' defensive hierarchy.
For Valle, this represents a new opportunity to showcase his talents in a top five league.

Como head coach Cesc Fabregas has close ties with Barcelona from his playing career and was recently asked about Valle’s potential arrival.
He said: “Until we are sure, we can’t say anything. Things can get complicated.”
Valle confirmed that he was leaving Celtic by posting a farewell on Instagram.
“Dear Celtic FC and fans, thank you for giving me the opportunity to join such a big and historic club like Celtic,” he wrote.
“I’ve made my Champions League debut and I have won the first title of my professional career.
“It was short but I tried to enjoy and give my best every day for the badge and for its amazing fans. They are a massive part of the club.
“Thanks again for everything. Hail hail.”
