Ousmane Dembele appears set to leave Barcelona during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old was previously a target for Manchester United and - with his contract due to expire this summer - his name has, once again, done the rounds with a view to signing for the Old Trafford giants.
However, the club are well-stocked in attacking quarters and Borussia Dortmund goal machine Erling Haaland is a top target moving forward in that regard.
Having finished as runners-up to Manchester City in the Premier League last season, figures upstairs in the United boardroom issued a triple statement of intent during the summer window that included signing Jadon Sancho and returning five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Interim manager Ralf Rangnick also has Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani and emerging talent Anthony Elanga to call upon in those positions.
Previous target Dembele has failed to replicate his Dortmund form in four tough years at the Nou Camp.
Barcelona manager Xavi had expected the Frenchman to pen revised terms with the cash-strapped Catalan side, though - but as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano that is seemingly no longer the case.

Club director Mateu Alemany has issued a major update on Dembele and his immediate future.
He said: "It's clear that Dembele does not want to continue with Barcelona and he doesn't want to be part of our project. We told Dembele he has to leave immediately. We expect Ousmane to be sold before January 31."
