Barbra Streisand, the iconic singer and actress, has given the green light for a multi-part documentary about her life, to be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Frank Marshall. The project, announced by Sony Music Vision, is set to delve into the life and career of the legendary artist, showcasing rare video footage, photographs, and audio recordings from Streisand's personal archives.

The untitled documentary, which does not yet have a release date, follows Streisand's recent 1,000-page memoir where she shared her life story in detail. The film will be produced by Oscar-winning documentary maker Alex Gibney, known for his work on projects about notable figures like Paul Simon and Steve Jobs.

In a statement, Streisand expressed her excitement about sharing the unseen content she has carefully preserved over the years. She mentioned that the collection holds some of her most cherished memories, many of which have never been made public. Streisand expressed her delight in having Gibney and Marshall on board to bring this project to life.

Frank Marshall, a seasoned director and producer with a track record of successful documentaries and films, highlighted that the documentary will showcase why Streisand has become a timeless icon beloved by audiences worldwide across generations.

Sony Music Vision is spearheading the presentation and distribution of the documentary in collaboration with Streisand's longtime record label, Columbia Records. The project aims to offer fans and audiences a deeper insight into the life and artistry of one of the most influential figures in the entertainment industry.
