Barbarians player walks into stands immediately after scoring try and has entire stadium in stitches

Fans watching Northampton Saints vs Barbarian F.C were left delighted when one of the BaaBaas stars capped a try with a 'brilliant' celebration that saw him leave the pitch and head up into the stands.

In a thrilling exhibition at Franklin's Gardens that saw the Saints come out on top with a 45-39 win, the hosts looked to be going into half-time with a 12-point lead, with Callum Braley and Rory Hutchinson scoring either side of Gareth Simpson's try for the visitors.

However, as half-time approached, the BaaBaas began to pile on the pressure and closed the gap when winger Zach Kibirige crossed to score with just a few seconds of the first half remaining.

After the ball was spilled just outside his own 22, Kibirige kicked it on before collecting it and racing into the corner to touch down and make it 19-12.

However, Kibirige wasn't done yet, as he followed up his try by leaping over the advertising hoardings, leaving the pitch and making his way up the steps before taking a seat between the rows and applaudig his own efforts.

It appeared to be a tribute to Argentina legend Felipe Contepomi, who pulled out the same celebration against the Saints after scoring for Bristol in June 2002.

Fans were left delighted with Kibirige's humourous celebration and the Saints themselves had to applaud the former Wasps man, who picked up his second try of the afternoon moments later.

Northampton's official Twitter account shared a clip of the celebration following the game, adding: "Fair play @ZachKibirige. The @Barbarian_FC winger hitting us with the full Contepomi celebration."

Viewers also loved it, with one writing: "This made me laugh so much when I saw the match". Another added: "That's absolutely brilliant!," while a third commented: "What a legend."
