The third and last bank holiday this month, on May 29, is only days away.
Brits can look forward to plenty of dry and warm weather, with much of the country expected to see pleasant conditions continue through the next couple of weeks.
The Met Office has released a five-day weather forecast for the UK that predicts settled conditions for the last week of spring.
So what can we expect from the weather on bank holiday Monday? Here are the key details from the latest forecasts.
What will the weather be like for bank holiday Monday?
The Met Office’s long-range weather forecast said the area of high pressure that has brought fine conditions across the UK over the last few days will extend towards the end of the month allowing us to enjoy clear skies. However, there won’t be a period of intense heat, as reported by some media outlets.
Neil Armstong, Met Office chief forecaster, said: “If you have heard media hyperbole that a heatwave driven by an African plume will bring intense heat to the UK in the next few days you are going to be disappointed – this isn’t true.
“However, if you are looking forward to a spell of largely fine, sunny and warm conditions across the majority of the UK, then you are going to be in luck.”
On May 29, bank holiday Monday, the weather is set to be cloudy, changing to sunny in the afternoon, with highs of 16C.
The mostly dry conditions will continue during the first half of next week, with typical temperatures for the time of year. By midweek there will be a chance of several scattered shows.
The pollen count is still low to moderate for many during grass pollen season, which is good to know for those struggling with hayfever this year.
However across southern England and Wales there may be some areas with a high pollen count over the next few days.
