The October bank holiday weekend is fast approaching which means a number of changes will be made to standard opening hours across most businesses.
If you have any plans to enjoy the extended weekend with family and friends or are planning a relaxing few days to reenergise, you’ll likely need to head to the supermarket at some point.
Before you get caught out by the changing times of service, you should check if there is a cut to the usual hours of your local store this weekend.

For many supermarkets, the changes depend on the location of the shop - some open later and close earlier in the day.
Some places will operate Sunday hours on the bank holiday Monday while others will shut their doors entirely.
So here are the opening times for Irish supermarkets on the October bank holiday:
Tesco
Tesco's opening hours change depending on each individual store. Usually, bank holiday hours are the same as an average Monday.
For example, Tesco in Rathfarnham, Co Dublin opens from 8am - 10pm on Saturday, 9am - 9pm on Sunday and 9am - 8pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
