With the May bank holiday in full swing, many off licences, shops, and supermarkets across Ireland have changed their opening hours.
Today is bank holiday Monday, meaning many people will enjoy a long weekend with an extra day off work or school.
Anyone looking to replenish either food or alcohol supplies is being encouraged to check their store’s operating hours in advance.

A number of supermarkets and off licences confirmed they will be operating at reduced hours today.
When it comes to the sale of alcohol, off licences, including supermarkets, are allowed to sell it between the hours of 10.30am and 10pm today.
Whether or not your local off licence keeps to those hours is down to the management in-store. In some cases, they may be opening later than usual, or closing earlier than expected.
Some open at 10.30am on the dot and allow sales until 10pm, however, others such as O’Brien’s off licence will not open until 11am and are due to close at 8pm.
Pubs and restaurants will continue to operate normal alcohol sale hours on bank holiday Monday from 10.30am until 11.30pm, excluding late night bars and nightclubs.
Meanwhile most of Ireland’s supermarkets have altered their opening hours.

Dunnes Stores
Dunnes Stores follow their usual Sunday opening hours on bank holiday Monday.
For the most part, Dunnes Stores shops are open on Sunday from 8am until 10pm.
These vary from store to store so you can check out the official website for more information on your local supermarket.
Aldi
Aldi stores across Ireland operate their weekend hours on bank holidays. The usual opening hours for bank holiday weekends are:
Friday: 9am until 10pm
Saturday, Sunday and Monday: 9am until 9pm
Aldi also recently introduced autism-friendly hours for shoppers.
SuperValu
Each SuperValu will likely be implementing their usual Sunday hours on bank holiday Monday.
Generally, the shops are open from 8am to 10pm, however it varies depending on location so you can check out the official SuperValu website for your local store's opening hours.
Lidl
Lidl stores across Ireland operate Sunday hours on bank holidays. The usual opening hours for bank holiday weekends are:
Friday and Saturday: 8am until 10pm
Sunday and Monday: 9am until 9pm
Tesco
Tesco opening hours across the country are due to implementing their usual Sunday hours on bank holiday Monday.
Customers are advised to check their local store with the online locater to see what time it opens and closes.
Marks and Spencer
Marks and Spencer stores are likely to be open on bank holiday Monday, but operating at their usual Sunday hours. These vary from store to store so you can check for your local one here.
