3D action-platformers were huge back in the day, and everyone can get in on 90s nostalgia when Banjo-Kazooie comes to Nintendo Switch Online on Jan. 20, 2022!
On Thursday, everybody’s favorite bear and bird duo make it onto the Nintendo Switch. Though playing Banjo-Kazooie means you’ll have to have a premium tier subscription on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, which costs $49.99 for a single account and $79.99 for a family plan. It would certainly be excellent for handheld mode.
This classic, developed by Rare, came out back in 1998 for the Nintendo 64. These days, Rare is one of the many studios owned by Microsoft, but thankfully both company’s are gracious enough to let Switch owners relive some precious memories. Check out the launch trailer for Banjo-Kazooie below.

Another title Rare made for the Nintendo 64 back then is Goldeneye 007, which might be coming to Xbox this year. Nintendo and Microsoft seemingly have a pretty good working relationship, so many are hoping both companies can work stuff out to get Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo Switch as well.
Video game preservation is a big deal these days, as there are lots of forgotten gems. So hopefully, Nintendo continues to bring less-obvious titles to Nintendo Switch Online.
