A band of alleged looters were accused of stealing personal items, including an Emmy award, from a home in Altadena while the California wildfires raged on.

Nine people were charged with looting homes during the Palisades and Eaton fires on Monday, including the group that stole the award.

"Let me be clear: If you exploit this tragedy to prey on victims of these deadly fires, we will find you and we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law," L.A. County Dist. Atty. Nathan Hochman told the Los Angeles Times on Monday.

Of the nine alleged looters, six of them were charged for residential burglary thefts across homes in Altadena.

Rudy Salazar, 19, Lucia Jilrara Perez, 36, Roy Sims, 18, Ryan Sims, 19, Naquan Dewey Reddix, 22, and Pierie Obannon, 19, potentially face up to six years of prison and a fine of up to $10,000 since burglary charges are considered felonies in California.

"Do not go ahead and engage in looting, engage in internet scams, engage in price gouging, do not violate evacuation orders," Hochman reiterated. "Do not commit any of these crimes in which people are trying to profit from the tragedy."
