Ian Wright has praised Everton midfielder Amadou Onana for his display during the 1-0 win over Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Onana starred in the midfield as Everton handed the table-topping Gunners just their second Premier League defeat of the season and gave new manager Sean Dyche the perfect start.
While results elsewhere in the day means the Blues remain in the relegation places, they are now just three points off 13th place, with the battle to beat the drop looking set to be a scrap between a number of teams.

And their hopes of staying up will be boosted by performances like the one Onana produced against Arsenal. And it was one that mightily impressed Gunners legend Wright, who spoke glowingly about the 21-year-old's ability to keep Martin Odegaard quiet.
Wright told Match of the Day on Saturday night: “This is Martin Odegaard, arguably one of the players of the season, so far. He didn’t have hardly any time (on the ball). Arsenal are still trying to play, like they play, because it’s got them where they are, at the moment.
“Look at Everton, every single one of them is right in their faces. All day this was happening. If Arsenal were going to get something, they were going to have to play very, very well.
“Onana, who was in and around Martin Odegaard the whole game – you look at Gana (Idrissa Gueye), reads it and they win it. I thought they were going to run out of energy, at some stage.
“This is Onana, again. Getting in front of Martin Odegaard. Then he has a bit of skill, and bam, bam!
“By the time it finished, this is just him running it down to the other end of the pitch and once it goes out of play, he gets the whole stand going with his rally cry.”
