The Baltimore Ravens have secured a significant addition to their roster by agreeing to a two-year contract with free agent running back Derrick Henry. The deal, valued at up to $20 million with $9 million guaranteed, is pending official confirmation at the start of the new league year.

Henry, a two-time NFL rushing champion, brings his formidable skills to a Ravens team known for its strong ground game. The signing addresses concerns in the running back room following the departure of Gus Edwards to the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency.

With an impressive eight-year career, all with the Tennessee Titans until now, Henry's standout season in 2020 saw him rush for over 2,000 yards, joining an elite group of players. At 30 years old, the four-time Pro Bowler continues to be a force on the field, ranking among the league leaders in rushing yards and touchdowns.

Henry leaves Tennessee as the franchise's second all-time leading rusher, behind only Eddie George. His consistent performance over the years has solidified his reputation as one of the NFL's top running backs.

The Ravens, coming off a strong 2023 season, aim to build on their success by pairing Henry with quarterback Lamar Jackson. The team also secured a long-term deal with defensive tackle Justin Madubuike, while facing the potential loss of key players like Patrick Queen and Odell Beckham Jr. to free agency.

Henry's arrival provides Baltimore with a potent running back duo alongside promising rookie Keaton Mitchell, who is set to return from a season-ending knee injury. General Manager Eric DeCosta remains optimistic about the team's running back options, emphasizing the strengths of Mitchell and Justice Hill.

As the Ravens gear up for the upcoming season, the addition of Derrick Henry adds a dynamic element to their offense and bolsters their chances of making a deep playoff run.
