Ballymena United striker David Parkhouse placed on transfer list as David McDaid poised for move

Ballymena United's summer rebuild continues at pace with news that David Parkhouse has been placed on the transfer list while David McDaid looks set to join derby rivals Coleraine.

The Sky Blues announced on Friday that striker Parkhouse has been made available to other clubs.

The former Derry City man - who joined Ballymena on a three-year deal in the summer of 2021 - spent the second half of last season on loan at Cliftonville.

The Braidmen said: "Ballymena United announce that David Parkhouse has been placed onto the transfer list and are open to enquiries from interested clubs."

Meanwhile, it is understood Coleraine are close to sealing a deal for Ballymena striker McDaid. The transfer is expected to see Alex Gawne moving in the opposite direction.

McDaid joined Ballymena last summer in a three-year contract but is now set to return to Coleraine.

The 32-year-old spent six months with the Bannsiders back in 2014 before joining Cliftonville. He then had a spell with Waterford in the League of Ireland before moving to Inver Park in 2018.

The Sky Blues are embarking on a transitional summer under new manager Jim Ervin.

A number of players have already left the club including Josh Kelly, Douglas Wilson, Craig Farquhar.

Ervin has added Colin Coates and Johnny McMurray to his squad, with a number of players also agreeing new deals with the club.
