One of the big talking jumps horses at the moment Ballyburn’s next race looks set to be over fences this Saturday at Punchestown.
The talented 6 year-old blew most of his rivals away last season – winning four of his five starts, with his only defeat coming on his first run back at Fairyhouse at the start of December 2023.
Since that minor setback, Ballyburn came out to win twice at Leopardstown – which included the Grade One Tattersalls Ireland 50th Derby Sale Novice Hurdle.
He then added top Cheltenham Festival (Gallaghers Novices’ Hurdle) and Punchestown Fesitval (Champion Novice Hurdle) wins to make him one of the most exciting National Hunt prospects heading into this term – where he’s heading over fences for the first time.
Connections are set to campaign Ballyburn over fences this season – with the Conway Piling Beginners Chase at Punchestown on Saturday his first target for horse racing fans to see how he takes to the bigger obstacles.

Ballyburn Already Favourite For The 2025 Arkle Novices’ Chase
Fans of Sir Gino, who is expected to run over fences for the first time on Monday at Kempton, and Firefox – the only horse to have beaten Ballyburn – might have something to say about it.
