Colorado is holding elections, including for state legislative offices, on Nov. 5, 2024. A number of candidates running in these elections completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

Frederick Alfred Jr. (R) is running for Colorado State Senate District 21, and the general election is on Nov. 5. Here’s how Alfred responded to the following questions:
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
“fiscal responsibility, education reform, and smart conservative environmental policies.”
What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
- “fiscal responsibility, we need to address State spending as well as property taxes
- education reform, we need to address the spending issues and educational gaps
- smart conservative environmental policies, eliminating oil and gas doesn’t solve the problem.”
