Ballon d'Or start time, how to watch and list of nominees including Liverpool stars

The Ballon d'Or 2022 winner is set to be announced tonight as six past or present Liverpool stars will learn their fate at the ceremony in Paris.

Starting at 7:30pm UK time, the fancy ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet will stage the glitzy spectacle to crown the years best footballer from the shortlist 30.

The Ballon d'Or Feminin, the Kopa Trophy and the Yashin Trophy will also be awarded to their worthy winners that is decided by more than 150 sports journalists, and the managers and captains of international teams under FIFA's jurisdiction.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have won 12 of the last 13 Ballon d'Or trophies with Luka Modric being the one to break that run of wins for the duo. Another Real Madrid star is tipped to lift the trophy tonight in Karim Benzema.

Benzema is the odds-on favourite to win the award after guiding Madrid to a Champions League win.

When will the Ballon d'Or winner be announced?

The winner of the award will be announced at the end of the ceremony in Paris, which takes place tonight at 7:30pm.
