The woman who was killed in a road crash in Co Cork had just attended a relative's funeral, it has emerged.
And sources have confirmed to The Mirror that the victim of the early morning crash in which a car ploughed into several people in the village of Ballingeary was with other mourners when the tragedy happened.
It’s understood there were two separate funerals in the area – which is around 20 kms west of Macroom – and mourners from each had met up to offer sympathies on their respective losses when the car struck her at around 1.10am.

Up to six people were gathered together when the car struck them.
The woman, who was from the area, died at the scene.
Two other women who were also hurt in the horror crash were seriously injured and are currently being treated at Cork University Hospital.
The driver of the car and a passenger both escaped injury.
Gardai at Macroom station are investigating and as part of their probe arrested a man this afternoon.
He was being questioned at Macroom Garda Station.
Gardai there have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
A Garda spokesman said the area of the crash was sealed off.
He said: “Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Dromanallig, Ballingeary, Co. Cork in the early hours of this morning Tuesday 13th December 2022 at approximately 1.10am.
“A car collided with a number of pedestrians in the village of Ballingeary, Co. Cork. One female pedestrian (early 50s) was fatally injured as a result of the collision. Her body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will take place in due course. Two other female pedestrians (40s) were also taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.
“The male driver of the car (early 40s) and his passengers were uninjured.
“The Main Street in Ballingeary Village is currently closed pending a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Macroom Garda Station on (026) 20590, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
The victim’s name has not yet been released, but she was understood to be well known in the area.
