An Edinburgh high school is to undergo a million pound refurbishment after it was built nearly 40 years ago.
Balerno High School will see work begin within the next few months to allow pupils to settle back in after months of learning from home.
The construction will be carried out by MAXI for the City of Edinburgh Council as they upgrade a series of features in and around the building.
According to plans, a full roofing system will be put in place including new insulation and covering. There will also be new windows, doors and electrical systems.
All toilet and changing facilities will be upgraded, as well as a new kitchen, flooring and ceilings.

John Aitchison, Maxi Construction’s MD told Project Scotland: “This is Maxi Construction’s 15th contract award over the past three years from The City of Edinburgh Council for construction works to its school estate.
"The value of these contracts awarded totals over £16 million and represents an important part of the company’s workload.”
