A new house has come on the market in Liverpool, that’s just a stone’s throw away from some Beatles attractions.
The detached four bedroom house, on Calderstones Avenue, Allerton, is within walking distance of well-known landmarks connected to the Fab Four. It’s close to the famous Penny Lane, Strawberry Field and John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s childhood homes on Forthlin Road and Menlove Avenue.
Nicknamed the Mendips, John Lennon's childhood home is Grade II listed and preserved by the National Trust. While Paul McCartney’s home, labelled as the “birthplace of the Beatles ” is also a National Trust property, in Allerton. As well as the nearby tourist attractions, the home is also close to Allerton Road, Calderstones Park and Allerton Manor Golf Course.

The area is becoming known for its array of restaurants, bars, cafes and independent businesses, with people regularly visiting from outside of the area. The period home is listed for £650,000 with Atlas Estate Agents.
According to Rightmove’s sales data, properties in Allerton had an overall average price of £317,286 over the last year. Most of the sales in Allerton during the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £240,732.
However semi-detached properties sold for an average of £345,569, with detached properties fetching £554,864. Overall, sold prices in Allerton over the last year were 1% up on the previous year and 16% up on the 2019 peak of £274,077.
Market information, gathered by Rightmove, shows that similar sized properties, within half a mile of the Calderstones Avenue house are listed for sale for £500,000 on Greenhill Avenue, and £875,000 and £650,000 on Menlove Avenue. Homes listed for £990,000 and £823,000 on San Roque and Menlove Gardens respectively, sold within the last year.
Images of the house show that a porch leads to a spacious entrance hall, that has a downstairs toilet off it. This area opens to a number of family rooms, including two lounge areas, a kitchen, dining room and storage rooms.
One of the reception rooms benefits from doors that lead to the back garden. While the dining room boasts a feature fireplace, in-keeping with its period design. Despite the property having many original character features, it has a modern integrated kitchen fitted with new appliances.
To the first floor are four double double bedrooms, one of which provides access to a balcony to front. While a 'guest' bedroom has an en-suite shower room. The remaining bedrooms share a family bathroom.
The backgarden is made up mostly of a lawn that is south facing. There is also a paved patio area, that has enough for garden furniture.
