Bakery chain Le Pain Quotidien closes nine stores after falling into administration

Coffee and bakery chain Le Pain Quotidien has collapsed into administration. The high street chain has been forced to close nine of its branches.

The sudden closure of the bakeries has led to 250 jobs being lost. In total, eight cafés in London and one in Oxford have shut.

BrunchCo UK, which trades as Le Pain Quotidien, has confirmed it has brought in administrators from Kroll.

While nine of the stores will close, a branch of Le Pain Quotidien at St Pancras railway station will remain open. This is because the branch is owned by sister company SPQ Holdings Limited.
