Bakery and chippy named 'best in Glasgow' after emotional win at top business awards

Two Glasgow businesses were celebrating over the weekend after being named the best in the city at a top awards ceremony.

Scotland's Business Awards, which recognises the top firms across the country, was in Glasgow at the weekend to give out their awards which are voted for by the public.

And the New Gorbals-based Rude Cookies were celebrating a double win after being named both Best Bakery and Best New Business.

Co-founder Magda Lo Bianco said: "We are still in shock, as we only knew that we were nominated for the Best Bakery category but we also won Best New Business, which was very emotional and overwhelming, we were so happy, I was crying on stage."

The exciting bakery business, which only started during lockdown, has won a huge following thanks to its vibrant and entertaining cakes and cookies.
