Sandi Toksvig has provided her fans with an update on her health after suffering a scare while in Australia.
The Great British Bake Off star, 64, took to Twitter on Thursday to let people know she's on the mend and has now left Australia, much to the delight of her followers.
Sharing a snap of her hugging her dog, she said: "Thanks to my beloved wife, I’m back home in time for Christmas. Best present ever!"
Fans flocked to the comments section to share their relief, with one user writing: "I don't know you Sandi and you don't know me - but I am stupidly happy that you are well and back in Blighty."
Another penned: "Nice to have a bit of good news Sandi. Wishing you both all the best for Christmas," while a third said: "Welcome home Sandi. You're in the best place for the required r+r! Have a truly wonderful Christmas xxx"
Sandi has been keeping her followers up to date with her condition since revealing her scare earlier in the month.
The QI presenter initially released a statement saying she had to cancel her New Zealand tour dates as she was too unwell to travel. The statement said at the time her "main priority" is getting her home to the UK.
She had to spend a number of days in hospital Down Under after being diagnosed with Bronchopneumonia, which is a type of pneumonia that affects the bronchi in the lungs.
The condition can often be the result of a bacterial infection, but sometimes viral and fungal infections can also cause it. Symptoms for bronchopneumonia can vary, but they often include coughing, difficulty breathing and fever.
Days after the first statement, Sandi took to Twitter to inform her fans she had been released from hospital and was working on getting home for the holidays.
She said on December 6: "Thank you to everyone who has sent such kind words while I’ve been unwell. I am now out of hospital and continuing my convalescence in Australia until I’m fit to fly home. My undying (literally) thanks to the amazing Australian health service."
The initial plans for her trip would have seen the star travel across nine cities in Australia and New Zealand as part of her mammoth Sandi Toksvig live tour.
