The holiday spirit is in the air, and New England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe made sure to take care of the guys tasked with taking care of him on the football field.
We often hear stories of quarterbacks giving extravagant gifts to their offensive lineman. That isn’t in Zappe’s wheelhouse just yet as a second-year quarterback that didn’t even make the initial 53-man roster.
But he has worked his way up as a starter for a Patriots team that was initially viewed as one of the worst in the league. However, since Zappe took over for Mac Jones, the team is 2-2 with road wins over the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers.
“It’s nothing crazy. I got each one a pack of four cigars,” said Zappe, via AtoZ Sports’ Sophie Weller. “From what I’ve earned, everyone enjoyed them… they all said it’s the thought that counts and it was nice to give them something cause they’ve been working their butts off.”

It’s always the thought that counts around the holidays, and Zappe clearly had his teammates in mind this year.
The road has been tough since training camp, but the team hasn’t stopped fighting, even with a 4-11 record and no hopes of making the playoffs.
