Thierry Henry believes Liverpool were 'lucky' to open the scoring during their 2-0 win over Villarreal on Wednesday night.
Liverpool were dominant from the off at Anfield and put in another fine performance against their La Liga opponents. After a goalless first-half, Liverpool struck twice in two second-half minutes.
First, Pervis Estupinan turned the ball into his own net after attempting to keep out Jordan Henderson’s looping effort. Then, just seconds later, Sadio Mane added a second from close-range.

And despite dominating possession, Henry believes Liverpool’s opening goal was 'lucky' and before that Jurgen Klopp’s side ‘weren’t showing a lot’.
“If you look at the game, I think a lucky goal bailed them out, for me. I think they would have knocked on the door, if not all night,” he told CBS Sports.
“It’s a lucky goal, the own goal of Villarreal is a lucky goal and I think, before that, they weren’t showing a lot.
“But, along the way, I would say, when you are going for the quadruple, then you need to have that luck. And, after that, there is nothing about luck.”
