Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifah issued a royal order appointing 40-members of the Shura Council and Ali bin Saleh al-Saleh as head of the Council.
Bahrain voted in a parliamentary and local election on November 12, electing 40 lawmakers and 30 members for the municipal council.
In a first, eight women were elected to the 40-member Council of Representatives.
Bahrain has voted in parliamentary and local elections every four years since 2002 after the island became a kingdom.
