Bahrain Grand Prix 2022: Race start time UK, qualifying results and how can I watch F1 on TV today?

The 2022 Formula One season has arrived and after yesterday’s first qualifying session of the campaign we’re all set to go racing at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Last year brought one of the most exciting seasons in the history of the sport, with Max Verstappen pipping Lewis Hamilton to the world title in controversial fashion on the final lap of the final race of the year in Abu Dhabi.

Verstappen starts today’s race from second on the grid, with the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc on pole and his teammate Carlos Sainz in third as the Italian manufacturer made a real statement of their intent.

Hamilton, meanwhile, is back in fifth, his fastest lap 0.680 seconds slower than that of Leclerc’s.

TV channel: The race will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and F1 channels, with coverage beginning on the latter at 1.30pm.

Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can watch the race via the Sky Go app.

Live blog: You can follow all the action via Standard Sport’s live blog, with Matt Majendie in Bahrain to provide expert analysis.

Free highlights: Terrestrial viewers can watch as-it-happened highlights on Channel 4 from 7.30pm.
