The TV BAFTA Award nominees were announced today, and some fans are not happy.
Line of Duty fans were disappointed that their favourite show has been snubbed for many of the main award categories, despite the sixth season having record-breaking viewing numbers.
The season six premiere of the BBC drama, which stars Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar, boasted an impressive audience of 9.56 million.
Line Of Duty’s 9.6M viewers for BBC One made it the best performing drama on UK television since Jed Mercurio's other series Bodyguard aired in 2018, according to UK trade Broadcast.
Afters nominees were released, many annoyed fans took to Twitter to rant.
One user tweeted: "Reminder that @Line_of_duty is the best and biggest drama series since BBC records began. @jed_mercurio @Vicky_McClure @martin_compston and Adrian Dunbar along with all the guest leads, cast and crew deserved bigger recognition at the BAFTA’s this year. Forever the best show x"
Another ranted: "Seriously what the actual…. No nominations in any of the Major Categories at the #BAFTAS for series 6 of #LineOfDuty.!! Only the biggest viewing figures of the Last century!!!! Clearly no one liked it.!!"
A third agreed: "How on earth has #lineofduty not been nominated when its figures say otherwise . Something is very wrong here"
"I’m sorry what? Where is Line of Duty," a fourth penned.
In My Skin, Manhunt: The Night Stalker, Vigil and Unforgotten beat Line of Duty for a nomination in the Drama Series category.
