BAFTAs 2022: Olly Alexander sports dramatically different look with bleached eyebrows

Olly Alexander ensured all eyes were on him as he arrived for the BAFTAs at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday night.

The It's A Sin star, 31, sported a new statement look as he rocked bleached eyebrows and had shaved stripes into his hair for his red carpet appearance.

Olly posed up a storm in a dramatic cape with frill neckline which billowed out and teamed the look with huge platform heels.

He teased a hint of his stomach in the statement outfit and appeared in his element as he worked the cameras.

Singer Olly was tipped as one of the front runners for Doctor Who, but it was announced just hours before the ceremony Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa would take over the role from Jodie Whittaker.

Musician Olly had worked with Russell T Davies on Channel 4 hit It's A Sin, with fans tipping him to be the next time lord.

And Ncuti told the PA news agency he can "finally breathe" after he was announced as the new Doctor after being secretly cast months ago.

On the red carpet at the TV Baftas, he said: "I feel really happy that I can now talk about it because I got cast in February and I have been keeping it a secret since then. So it is nice to finally breathe.

"But also really nervous. It is an incredibly iconic role and an incredibly iconic show. I just hope I do it justice. I am following in some very, very big footsteps so I am just hoping that I fill them up.”

Speaking about how Doctor Who relates to diversity, he added: "He is a Time Lord. He is literally an alien – ‘they’ are an alien. And so they can regenerate into anything and anyone.

"And for me, I just find the show to be the most beautiful form of escapism. You can forget about all your worldly troubles and you get to go to space and battle aliens. I feel like anyone can put themselves in those shoes.

"The Doctor is not from anywhere. They don’t fit in anywhere and I think for marginalised people they have been a real beacon of feeling seen in a way. They are someone that can help people escape, which I love."

Asked what he will bring to the role, he said: "I don’t know… fabulousness!"
